Hello everyone
I have a Galaxy Tab A (SM-T290), which my granddaughter uses for gaming. Problem is that the internal drive is far too small for the myriad of games she wants to play, consequently I bought a 500GB SD card and moved the games over to it, however, new games still download to the internal drive, so I am always being warned of low disk space, whereas the SD card is hardly touched.
My question is, how do I make the SD card the internal drive without destroying the operating system, so that the tablet automatically downloads new games and updates to the larger drive?
Thanks for your suggestions.

This is believe sets it to all downloads. Very difficult to find answers.
Open Settings: Go to the "Settings" app on your tablet.
Select Storage: Scroll down and tap on "Storage" or "Device Maintenance" > "Storage".
Change Default Location: Tap on the three-dot menu (top-right) and select "Settings". Choose "Format as internal" and then "Erase & Format". This will format the SD card as internal storage
Restart Your Tablet: Reboot your tablet to apply the changes

Unfortunately, not all Samsung tablets support this feature, and it seems like your model might be one of them.
From my understanding I think it may not be an option to make it a default 😞 I would maybe try speaking to Samsung directly to see for certain

Hello again
Thanks for your response, it's appreciated.
Following your fix, please note that this model doesn't have "file manager", but I can go to settings > apps > files > (notifications, permissions, set as default, mobile data, battery, storage, memory, version)
Back in 2008, I was a member of "Geeks To Go" and knew my way around most things IT related including Windows OS, but tablets and android weren't around in those ways and they elude me.
Looks like it's over to Samsung, thanks again.
Regards
Phil (Crustyoldbloke).
