Galaxy A70. Seems that the only cable provided can't be used to connect the phone to a PC

The cable supplied doesn't connect to a standard USB port - I don't understand why they dont6 provide such a basic option. Anyone know if the cable is just a charging cable  or also a data transfer one?

OK, let's simply dispense with connecting to 99.99% of PCs and laptops worldwide. Sorry that I expect a phone to connect to these for file transfer

You're welcome. That's the way it usually happens when one standard replaces another. Some people decide to complain about the new gadget they got, because it doesn't fil well to their legacy gear. Others are happy that they got a new gadget and proudly tell everbody that they've got a shiny USB-C charger that can charge better than these old ugly USB-A chargers.

The previous response is not correct - new products are required under law in most jurisdictions to be able to be used out of the box - not requiring the pourchaser to go buy an accessory.
As a side note, the development of the new USB C connections is faulty and it wont be long before there is an upgrade or alternative.

I agree totally.  What a crock!  I buy Samsung because I trust and love them. They're nothing like Apple.  Don't ruin it for us Android users?   There are millions of people who like to manage their own file movements... via cable, without Cloud!  I will never consciously use Cloud.   Just think of all the unhappy customers who are going through this BS!  All because the standard changed?   So much better customer satisfaction if advice was included in the box... if you refuse to supply required cables!.  I don't know how you are getting away with it legally either!   Off to buy my "must have" new cable now.  Bad form Samsung!

Samsung isi bate joc de clienti in stilul NOKIA. Cum e posibil sa nu functioneze un cablu USB C, doar ptr ca nu e fabricat de Samsung ? O rusine de companie care o ia pe drumul batatorit de firme de mult uitate.
