Time is running out for me to avail of the May discounts from Samsung.

Apart from the lack of HDR10 support (which may not be a big deal for me as i mostly just watch Youtube or Instagram Reels on my phone and not Netflix) is the Galaxy A55 really worth the money, difference and better specs than the A35? (similar questions have been asked since last year?)

Note: Things that are important to me are everyday performance (not benchmarks), true all-day battery life, sharp, clear display with 1000nits brightness, speakers that are not muffled but sounding loud, clear & crisp w/ a hint of bass and cameras that has faster autofocus, good white balance, good HDR, colours that are very close to what you see in real life, good dynamic range and less "beauty mode" on selfie camera and decent low light shots.

Based on what you said was important to you in a phone, The A55 has:-
The more premium build.
The longer battery life.
The slightly faster charging.
The nicer speakers.
The better performance.
The better ultrawide camera and video recording.

Samsung.com should have a good spec guide on both along with specs on gsmarena.com.

Also YouTube has good reviews @Gino76ph

And if possible visit a Samsung Experience Store or Highstreet Store that has working retail models on display to have hands on with.

Good luck.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

Based on the many videos I've seen so far people have been commenting the A35 has far sharper selfies, more natural looking photos on the main camera and actually has slightly better battery life.

Yes I could go to a Samsung store. But in my experience most phones are either on demo mode or not fully updated software.
Hence I rely on the Community or on well known YouTube reviews for opinions and advice.

It normally depends on you. The A55 has a newer chipset, and where as A35 uses A54 chipset from last year. A55 receives monthly security updates, and a35 is on quarterly, meaning it receives security updates every 3 months. Both phones are good 👍. If I had a choice, it would be the A55.

Do we know why the A35 is only receiving quarterly security updates?

Do we know why the A35 has far better selfies whilst the A55 is "softer" as if it has a beauty mode turned on permanently ?

Do we know why Samsung has decided to widen the bodies of their phones each year?

I have already seen the video comparison.
