I always try to find something a little different to review. Those on this community more often, may see that the Stars 🌟 team have been sent a newly released A56 phone for review.

I am going to focus my own attention towards mobile gaming. This first test will be on game benchmarking, and the second with some tests of some games from the android play store, 'cloud based',and 'fully install' games.

Test units
I have in my possession currently, my top end S25 ultra, a fold 6, and an A56 phone... all samsung and all running OneUI7 on Android 15.

Whilst this is a bit of an unfair test on the A56... it does help to show the differences in gaming potential between the Top range, fold, and mid range tier phones.

Benchmark tools
The gaming benchmark utilities provided by 3D mark are a recognised industry standard in gaming, and whilst PC based gaming evaluation uses variants known as Timespy and Firestrike, the android gaming community use a mobile gaming tool Wildlife Extreme as well as Wildlife. A point to note is that the extreme version is intended for top end chipsets and the base version for mid range. Additionally other tools are available for light evaluation using Steel Nomad (Non ray tracing)  and Solar Bay (Vulkan with RayTracing). However in the interests of keeping the testing relevant between units, only the Wildlife test modes are used.

Thermal setting
To ensure the phones provide the least thermal throttling, then the Good Guardians Thermal Guardian is used, and adjusted to the +2 value to allow the phone thermals to get hotter.

Test Data

The attached video below captures the test data...

Shout out to @Lucy C and @SocietyGirl. As well as my other stars team for their own evaluations.

Great stuff!

Really does dawn on me, I've followed 3DMark since the early days back in the 90s when they went by MadOnion. Incredible how they've continued pushing on to this day. Still have that 3DMark 2000 Demo tune rolling in my head! 🤣

Benchmarking can become a bit of an obsession. 😊

I have a gaming PC setup and I used to spend way too much time tweaking and ensuring my PC was running well with 3D mark benchmarking in timespy and firestrike... it got to a point I was benchmarking more than gaming ! 😂

Always nice to know a piece of hardware is running to its capability 🙏🙂
