I have just purchased an A20e dual sim A202 Euro smartphone thinking it was a UK phone. The box says European SIM card only. I am currently using a J5 pay as you go sim. Can I use this with my new phone or should I have purchased a new UK phone.

It should accept a European sim @martin2020 which is a Uk sim card.
This is a photo of the retail box my Samsung Note10 + 5G which i purchased direct from a Samsung Experience Store which also has that info on.
Have you tried your sim card in it ?
Who did you purchase it from ?
However when people purchase a phone from another country then the Region Lock may prove to be a stumbling block.
Region Lock.
"All current Samsung phones come with an active regional lock when first bought. Assuming it's not also locked to a specific network, using a SIM from the same regional origin as the phone for at least 5 minutes of total talktime will disable the regional lock and allow you to use a SIM from any other region from then on."
