Hello all,

I had a Samsung A53, and about three weeks ago, it started displaying the drop icon, and the phone wouldn't charge. The USB port and the cable connector were fine. So, I bought a new A55, and after two days, the same problem occurred. I sent the phone in for a warranty claim, and they replaced it with a new one. After the first day, the same issue happened again. I returned the phone once more, got another new one, and again, there was moisture in the USB port.

Suspecting that the charger might be causing the problem, I bought a new original Samsung charger, but the issue persists. The phones are not exposed to water, nor are they in a dusty or otherwise extreme environment. I really don’t know what to do anymore.

Hi! Welcome to the Samsung Members community. This is a very odd situation, and sounds incredibly frustrating. Where did you get the phone from? If a retailer, replace and test it within the shop before going home—or maybe even a Samsung Experience Store?

There's definitely a common factor, and there's no chance it's every single A55. Maybe test it at a friend's/family's home.

Are you using smartswitch? Maybe theres an application causing a bug? Unless this is happening before you even set the device up?
Maybe try a factory reset, move all across besides apps?

Hello @Members_gKZUfv2

Welcome to the Samsung Community Forum.

Found this > https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/my-device-displays-a-water-drop-icon-and-will-not-...

And

Usb reset.
Settings > Apps > Tap the 3 lines with the downward facing arrow, to the right of 'Your apps' > Show system apps (toggle this on) > OK > Scroll down, and tap on 'USBSettings' > Storage > Clear cache > Clear data, then restart your device.

Other than that I'm afraid its a case of persevering with a Samsung Service Centre.

If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask  😎

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.

HI. I have 2 posts up about the exact same thing. I has an A53 and Partner an A54 and started doing this after an update within a week of each other. Tried all the solutions online and by Samsung. Sent off to samsung who returned it twice saying it was repaired when it wasn't. They refuse to accept there is any issue at all or if there is it is only a small proportion of what they sell.

Sent my partners off to our phone insurers who again tried to repair twice and in the end replaced the A54 with an A55, yep guessed it within 5 months got the same warning and would not charge. We have now bought new phones. NOT SAMSUNG
