Delay in scheduled notifications, timer, automated settings

Hi everyone, I seem to have run into an odd issue - the phone is an older model (A22 5G), and Samsung support was no help.

At random, scheduled events on my phone stop working. Examples:

- Set a timer for 5 minutes. I check my phone 10 minutes later, timer has gone into negative numbers. When I open the clock app, it resets. Never rings. I am currently waiting to see how low the negative number will go - my 3-minute timer has been counting down for almost an hour. I've screenshotted it and inserted the picture at the bottom of my post.

- I use the Sleep as Android app and sometimes, my alarm is late - snoozed or back-up alarm can go off hours after it should have. I checked with their support and all they could tell me was that there is "something" blocking it - it was set to go off at the correct time, but the system didn't let it until much later. The same happens with other apps, like MediSafe.

- I have eye comfort mode on a schedule (10pm-7am). It usually turns on fine, but rarely turns off. All I need to do is open the settings and move the slider (the level of color filtering) for it to catch up and automatically turn off.

I have scoured battery settings, I turned off putting apps to sleep altogether, cleaned app cache and system cache partition... Everything short of a factory reset. Samsung support has, of course, been no help.

I am leaving my phone plugged into my laptop all Sunday, capturing logs. I have found quite a few posts online about this issue, but has anyone been able to find the culprit? I suspect it's in the system, not a specific app.

As this issue randomly re-appears, I am genuinely worried it will pop-up when I really don't want it to, like with important medication reminders or an alarm I can't afford to sleep through. If I can't find the culprit, I'll probably end up getting a different make and model.

Any tips are greatly appreciated!

Having the same problem.  Haven't found a solution.

Hi, so I posted the same question on my local (Czech) forum, and somebody suggested it might actually be the eye comfort shield blocking events! So I am testing my phone's behaviour if I keep that turned off.

Either way, I appreciate your comment a lot. I genuinely felt like I was having a random, unreported and unreplicated issue... I am rather prone to running into bugs nobody else has.

Let me know if that works for you.  I ultimately installed another timer app and have been using that instead.

2 days later, I can safely say it was, unfortunately, only a temporary solution.

The phone was due for an upgrade anyway, maybe I'll end up doing the factory reset after all, just to try and find the culprit. I will update this thread if I have any news.
