I have a Galaxy A34 5G with a Smart View Wallet Case. Every day the cover screen randomly stops working. The "Cover screen" option in Settings disappears. The only way to get it working again is to restart the phone. This is infuriating.
Once restarted, I have to redo my cover screen clock style customisation which returns to default even though the default clock type is not selected.
When the cover stops working, if I do a *#0*# diagnostic test, the Hall IC detects the cover without any problem.
Is there a known fix for this that actually works? I have seen many similar posts but no solution.

The Smart Cover stopped working after a reboot. The settings on the phone no longer had the Cover Screen settings (where you change the clock style and other stuff). I tried removing the cover and then reapplying the cover; this didn't work. I tried "safe mode"; this had no effect. I tried the "clearing the cache partition" and tried removing and reapplying the cover with the power off this didn't work. I tried "clearing the cache" again and this time applied the cover with the phone power turned on. This worked! I was careful when applying the cover to make sure that the top of the phone was against the top left part of the cover (this is where the magnet is needed for the Hall IC sensor to work) and then pushed the rest of the phone into the cover. The Cover Screen setting returned to the Settings screen. I'm still not 100% confident but it's working again and I'm quite pleased with myself but not with Samsung - why does rebooting the phone have this effect?

I will try this next time the Cover stops working. Do you think the clear cache is not necessary?

If you get to the secret diagnostics (*#0*# from the dial screen) and go to the Hall IC sensor with the phone out of the case, then push the phone into the top of the charger case and this will trigger the top Hall IC sensor. I.e. there is a magnet in the top of the case on the left. I'm guessing that the other Hall IC sensor (at the bottom of the screen) is then triggered by a magnet in the cover door, so that when you close the case the phone is told to close down the main screen and just display the window screen on the cover.
You can use a magnet to test the Hall IC sensor - i.e. rather than use the magnets in the cover.

I suspect that there is an app on the phone that is causing problems. I have to keep rebooting to get the app to work - and then the cover stops working.
