Blue and green text messages

Hi. Can anyone explain the difference between green and blue text bubbles please. Thanks in advance

Green messages are texts and blue messages are chat messages to use chat messages you need Internet connection text you don't.

Hi Steve, can you advice as to how resolved this issue? I send a message to same contact and some go through blue and tell me when the message has been read. Others go as green, and I have no idea if read or not. Never had this problem with my old phone. Can you help?

Hi all,

This issue appeared out of nowhere for me also, if you select the 3 dots in the failing conversation, you can turn off "send as a chat" slider, the next text will be green and hopefully go through.

Hi I am having trouble when I send a message it is green I have tried the 3 dots and there is no chat message to turn off or on but there is on other people hiw can I resolve this.???

I have a Samsung galaxy 20 note abd mu messages are coming up green . I want them blue how do I change this back
