I keep getting adverts pop up over whatever it is I'm doing on my A34. I don't mind adverts while I'm playing games to get rewards, but these are playing over EVERYTHING, even other ads!

Any advice from the hive mind??

Hey there and welcome to the Samsung UK and EU Community Forum

Samsung don't put adverts on your device so this will be from an app you've downloaded.

Need to source the app then likely uninstall it.
I am not employed by Samsung nor do I receive any remuneration as a Samsung Members Star.

My device is an S25 Ultra.

For the standard UI there are no adverts. So if you have pop up ads coming up regularly then this is due to an app you have installed and it is spamming your home screens with advertisements.

You may need to investigate this yourself by uninstalling some possible candidate apps and see if these adds go away.

Hi and thanks! I've been trying to do that for a couple of days now 😊. I can't find which app is the culprit, despite uninstalling all recent ones 🤷‍♂️

Hello and thanks. I've been doing that over the past couple of days, but so far with no success. Coincidentally they didn't appear before the UI update 2 days ago. I was hoping it was something to do with that but I've not seen anyone else with this issue. I was hoping for a magic wand to fix it, but I guess I'll have to continue to uninstall and reinstall all recent apps 🤷‍♂️

My step father on his a05s asked me for help a couple of weeks ago. When I looked at his phone, it seemed to have installed some kind of alternate UI. It wasn't the samsung oneui7 but a third party one. It defaulted to some strange weather app widget as the home screen and littered with adverts.

I cant quite remember the steps but I went into settings and changed the 'default UI' to the samsung oneui7 and not this strange UI.

Obviously it is hard to be able to diagnose over a community page and without access to being about to see screens etc.

Questions for the Question

1. Which country are you in?

2. Where did you buy the phone from?

Uk based phones will have no ads on them unless user has installed a rogue app from the store.

UPDATE

OK gang, I think I've found the culprit.

It's an app called Fluid FX -Live Wallpaper. It's in development and one of those "early access" things. See pic attached.

I was looking at wallpapers, but I don't remember looking at this one in particular. It seems that it installed itself, but managed to hide and not be shown as an installed app (that's why I couldn't find it). Its icon was the same as the old Settings icon, which has just been updated. So when I was hunting for the little bugger, it was pretending to be Settings.

I have uninstalled it and rebooted my phone. So far, no unwanted ads!

I used Cleaner Antivirus VPN Cleaner app to help me track this little sod down. I would recommend it.

Thanks for your help, folks!1753005201500.jpg

It would usually be better if you put your phone into safe mode as that disables all third-party apps. As that will make it easy to investigate the issue. As with all third-party wallpapers, before downloading any from the Play Store, it usually tells you if the developer of the apps has placed ads on the app.
