I'm sorry to hear that your Galaxy A14 is experiencing slow performance after startup, we understand how frustrating that can be, @ScoredByOctane.

The issue you described, where apps take a long time to open or respond after restarting the phone, may be caused by one or more of the following:

  1. Background app optimisation: After restarting, your device may take a few minutes to reinitialise system processes and background apps, especially if many apps are set to auto-start.

  2. Storage or Memory usage: If your device's internal storage or RAM is near full, this can significantly slow down performance.

  3. Third-party Apps: Some apps running in the background may cause system delays.

To help resolve the issue, please try the following:

  • Ensure your device has the latest software update: Settings > Software update > Download and install.

  • Restart your phone in Safe mode to check if third-party apps are causing the issue. (To enter Safe Mode, press and hold the Power button > Tap and hold "Power off" > Select "Safe Mode".)

  • Clear cached data: Settings > Device care > Storage > Clean now.

  • Monitor your storage and RAM usage under Device care.

If the issue continues, we recommend performing a factory reset as a last resort (after backing up your data) or arranging an inspection on the phone using the following link: https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/repair/

We’re here to help, so feel free to reach out again if needed!

Besides any troubleshooting, it's perfectly normal to lag for a minute while it's loading everything up. After a restart, everything is shut down; RAM is cleared...so, even on my S25U, it takes a second to get everything loaded.

Best practice after a restart is to not attempt to give it extra stress by trying to load apps. Budget series phones also struggle a little more. Boot up, unlock the phone, and just give it a minute before using it.

Yes perfectly normal. The phone is rebooting all the stuff in the background meaning it's taking some time to optimise everything. Best to wait 10 to 3p seconds before using it. It allowed it to fully optimise and get everything up for you :smiling-face:
