A54 dropping wifi connection

My A54 keeps dropping off WiFi connectivity in my home and pretty much everywhere else. It connects to our WiFi and then just drops it and cannot find the network again. I deleted all saved connections, restarted our router and keeps doing that. All other devices, and there are about 25 of them don't have any issues with our home WiFi.
If I restart my phone it connects back and finds all other connections as well.
Any ideas, please?
Thanks

Hi @agrec07, I'll be happy to help you look into this. The number of existing connections can cause some stability issues when attempting to connect another device to the same Wi-Fi connection. As you've said that it reconnects after you restart the phone, it does suggest that the phone does connect to your Wi-Fi network but due to an unknown reason, it disconnects. The reasons could include the stability of your internet connection, number of existing connections, the distance between your phone and the Wi-Fi router, interference between the Wi-Fi router and phone, or there's an issue with the phone.

Please check for software updates as most features can be affected on an older software version, and newer updates are released with optimisations and bug fixes. You can check this by going into Settings > Software update > Download and install.

When this is completed, if you've enabled Power saving mode, try turning this off as some features are limited during this. You can find this in Settings > Battery and device care > Battery > Power saving.

If the issue persists, if you have access to Mobile Hotspot on a different device, try connecting this to the phone as a process of elimination as this will help identify if this is an issue with your phone or internet connection. You can do this by enabling Mobile Hotspot on the other device and connecting it to the phone following the steps we provided earlier to set up Wi-Fi on your phone.

However, if your phone isn't finding your Wi-Fi network, let's attempt a Hardware Test on your Wi-Fi connectivity to see if there are any issues with the phone, and what actions will be required to resolve this. You can carry this out by going into the Members app > Support > Phone diagnostics > Wi-Fi.

If you receive an outcome advising there's an issue, let's try carrying out a Factory reset on the phone, and get the phone running from scratch. This will wipe everything from your phone, so it will be ideal to back up your data before you attempt this. You can back up the data using Smart Switch. Information on Smart Switch can be found here: https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/what-is-smart-switch-and-how-do-i-use-it/

When you're confident your data is backed up, you can reset the phone by going into Settings > General management > Reset > Factory data reset.

Hope this helps but if issues still occur, an inspection will be required to help you get this resolved, which can be arranged through the Samsung UK Technical Support Team. Their contact details can be found here: https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/contact/

Hi Asad, I have tried all the above except factory reset and WIFI diagnostics showed 10 available connections and no issues. But ATM phone is connected to my WiFi. No other devices are having this issue that are connected to the same WiFi.

I would double check under the WiFi settings on the A54 that auto connect is enabled and if the MAC settings are set to randomised change it to Phone or vica versa and see if that helps.

The only other thing to try apart from a factory reset on the A54 is to reset the phones WiFi settings. This is done through settings>General Management>Reset>Reset WiFi & Bluetooth. Please note this will clear any saved WiFi and Bluetooth connections saved on the A54.

I'm sorry you are still having issues. It maybe worth contacting Samsung support through the members app to see if they can offer any further advice. I'm guessing you are on the latest November security patch and wipe the cache partition after every update.

Hi People
I was about to sell my cell phone until I started to check a little, to fix the problem you need to enter your ISP's router and verify the Wi-Fi networks, any WPA2-PSK network in my case does not work for me, right now I am using the guests configured as WPA/WPA2 mixed PSK (aes) and it works wonders for me. In conclusion, after the fart update that caused Samsung to notify that the WPA2-PSK method was going to be restricted. I hope I have helped you.

Regards-

Blas
