A55 phone will not connect if WiFi calling is enabled

I have a galaxy a55 that I have had for 12 months. Recently it started seemingly ringing a number but nothing happened, I tried to ring my wife’s phone and my phone said connected but her phone did not ring and did not record a missed call. I was about to send it back as still under warranty but then chose to turn off WiFi calling. Now the phone works perfectly.  The WiFi at home is running at 150mb so no problem there, mobile signal is fine. Is there a solution to this please.

Check with your mobile provider if wifi calling is supported and enabled on your account

Turn off your WiFi calling if you use WiFi in the home as you don't need to use it unless you go anywhere with no signal.

that was my solution, but I found it peculiar that despite being supported and set to use WiFi calling that the phone would suddenly start to have problems with it.

WiFi calling is only necessary when outside and out of range for the normal signal your device needs.

True but when it is available it should work. At the moment if it is enabled nothing works. I just wondered if someone had come across a reason why enabling it makes using the phone for calls impossible
