My A22 worked well with Airpods 1. For music they work well with Airpods 4 too.

However, phone calls are a problem. In about 70% of the calls ringtone and voice are so distorted that one can not understand anything. It can help to disconnect and reconnect the Airpods, but it's not sure that the next try is better. It is even possible that the signal is fine in one Airpod and distorted in the other one. The Airpods are new and I also checked with other Airpods 4 and encountered the same problem.

I alreday resetted the phone and I tried in the secure mode. I even tried with different settings in the developer settings. None of it helped.

I would be grateful if someone could help me to solve this problem.

Hi @Sylvia80 and Welcome to the Samsung Community Forum 👋

Airpods I find work best with Apple Devices which is what I've personally come across when trying out some previous generations of airpods on my Samsung Phone.

All that said this maybe this a case of a network connection issue and or congestion when on the call.

Try deleting the pairing and reset them back up as a process of elimination.

If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask  😎

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.

Hi @Sylvia80 and warm welcome 👋

"it's likely due to a compatibility issue between the Apple AirPods and Android operating system, where certain audio features like adaptive EQ might not function optimally, potentially leading to distorted sound quality"

If you are in samsungs ecosystem, it's best if you use galaxy buds to achieve the best performance, as every manufacture will work best with their own designed accesorries.

Hi @BandOfBrothers,
Thanks for the advise. Unfortunately, deleting the pairing and pairing again did not solve the issue.

It seems that the signal sometimes is not sent correctly in a call and it doesn't matter if it is a What's App call or a "normal" one. Perhaps some kind of encryption sent that the Airpods can't resolve? But why does it sometime work and sometimes not? And is there a single signal sent to each ofAirpod receivers? Because sometimes even one does work well and on the other one you can not understand anything.
