Not sure if that's because of the beta version, but I can't use my Samsung pay to pay for purchases over £100, it says its over the contactless limit. This limit shouldn't apply to wallet apps since they are verified by pin or fingerprint. I've used Google wallet multiple times to pay for purchases over £100. Does anyone have an idea what's the issue here and how to fix it?

As far as I was aware there was always a limit on contactless which is enforced by banks ... even using a card itself has limits & will sometimes ask for card to be inserted to provide pin.... basic security checks TBF

I used samsung pay before for contactless for over £100 but haven't since the beta. The limitations are only for card contactless as there is no security on it.

@Muiradhar,

As other users have already said, it is possible that there are some limits set on contactless payments by your bank. Usually it is possible to change those limits by logging in the bank account.

If that doesn't help, you can report the problem via the Samsung Members app attaching log files, so that our developers can check if there is a problem on their side 😉.

These limits apply for contactless when you use a card directly, but usually don't apply to wallet apps when they have a pin code. It seems there's a problem with my app. I've contacted Samsung directly and am investigating. Cheers

Yes, it seems there's an issue with my app. There shouldn't be a limit for contactless in Samsung wallet

Some companies do not support mobile payments and so the cats machine treats the phone payment as normal contactless. The limit is on the card machine and not the phone. There is a payment protocol specifically for mobile payments that is different to regular contactless payments. Have you previously done a transaction at this merchant that was over the contactless limit? Have you tried other stores?

OP is correct that the £100 limit is specifically for bank cards, this is because of the lack of security.

Samsung Pay, Google Pay, Apple Pay etc etc do not have these limitations as they have a significantly higher degree of security.

Personally I have used Samsung Pay for purchases over £100 quite often, and always without issue.

That said, I have not attempted such a payment since I recently installed the beta. If I do, I will report back my findings.

Hopefully the OP wasn't stuck at the till without means of payment.
