Battery % in Status Bar has skinnier font?

I've noticed that the battery percentage in the status bar seems to be a lot thinner in the update. 

I've read multiple reports of people struggling to read it since oneui 7, but never had a problem myself. 

But since the beta 6 update, although I can read it, I can feel it straining my eyes with my system font, which was already quite slim. 

So much so I've turned off 'show battery percentage' in settings, to avoid the strain.

Anyone else noticed this?

It could do with a red, amber , green background to make numbers stand out in my opinion
