Sorry for the strange title; basically, I recently got a pair of Creative Pebble V3 speakers, and suddenly today the speakers kept playing nothing but white noise whenever I used my Macbook (connected to the Samsung M8 monitor). My speakers work fine when I'm using the monitor app, but for some reason does not work at all when I'm using the macbook. Both devices are connected through the ports at the back of the monitor and I can't tell what's wrong at all.
To be clear, this means my external speaker is plugged into the back via USB-C, and so is my Macbook via USB-C

You have to go to sound settings on your Mac and select the out source, so currently it's sending the sound direct to the monitor, change it to sound out to your Creatives. Another thing is that your speakers should be connected to the Mac directly, it's as if you are sending the sound to your monitor and then trying to route the sound from the monitor to the Creatives.
