When I turn on my computer and plug in the display port, it says no signal and shuts off after 3 seconds. I have contacted several Samsung support pros and followed their guidelines but got no results. Along with that, I noticed that no one else has a similar problem similar to mine. I believe I found the issue, but it's not fixable. I have an RTX 3090 with G-Sync on, which seems to cause problems for other people. Even when I factory reset the monitor to try and turn it off, it's ineffective. The other solution would be to switch the display ports or connect an HDMI port to the motherboard, but I have tried all of the possible options, and it doesn't work.
Edit 1: This happens to both of my monitors: individually or together.
Edit 2: Another solution is to replace your GPU, which might be faulty. That was my case.

I ordered a new cable but had to return it. They sent me 1 m and not 2m as ordered. However it seems all is working. I have both hdmi and dp cable connected but using the dp setting on the monitor. Running 240 mhz and all seems to work as before. Pc boots up and uses dp port automaticly. So for know I am happy.

I am guessing most issues also tend to point to a 30 series nvidia GPU and the monitors g-sync. Sometimes the driver can be a factor as Sean above posted, but I think the majority of issues are with the displays hardware and Samsungs lack of firmware attention.
Would be nice to run it on an AMD 6000 series and see if it worked any better. Most people tend to have a geforce GPU.

Yes i have a 780 ti.
i saw in another post disabling adaptive sync on the monitor helps. Testing that out to see how it behaves.

You will have to check your cards spec, some of these older ones wont be able to push high fps/hz and display stream compression. So you need a Turing card or newer for this to be hardware supported.

I just bought the g7 yesterday and Im having the same problems. It just blacks out and the pc cannot connect to the monitor. However what I did is I have my other monitor plugged in the HDMI. while my g7 is unplugged I turn on the pc and connects to the 60hz monitor. And then I plug in my g7 suddenly the monitor connects and transfers the display to the g7. What a hassle. Can somebody tell me how to fix this problem please?

I'm afraid there isn't a complete fix at the moment I have a similar situation to you however when I downloaded the driver from the Samsung support page I no longer got the black screen. display port worked and HDMI only you had to manually switch between the two inputs. I'm hoping there will be a bug fix for this eventually.

I am having the exact same experience. I need to plug displayport into another monitor, boot, then swap to neo g7 for it to get a signal. It's horrible. Samsung is no help, they want me to mail in the monitor.

TLDR: Get a better DP cable (Displayport 2.0)
I have the Neo G7 and a 3090 Kingpin. The problem to me seems to be that DisplayPort 1.4 doesn't support 165Hz, 10 bit color and HDR. I thought my motherboard was bad. After switching from the provided DisplayPort cables the problem immediately went away and I was able to see the BIOS screen and had no issues with display detection. I have two Neo G7s running off the same 3090. Both 165 Hz, 10-bit color and HDR enabled. I bought VESA Certified DisplayPort 2.0 Cables on Amazon (Dbilida brand, 80Gbps bandwidth. They are red). I hope this helps someone!

This post is for everyone!
I've encountered the same issue as everyone else in this thread and I have the Odyssey Neo G8. Been at it for two hours and disabling the adaptive sync in the monitor menu has worked for me!
Once disabled, I rebooted my pc three times and all three times it detected my monitor and worked! I wish it help with all of your guys issues as well.
Godspeed
And for those wondering, I have a 3080 ti so I'm thinking that other comment was right about the 30 series having specific issues to this monitor.
