What's the deal with these things?

These were recently on a black Friday deal so I grabbed one. I'm now on my third one and all 3 have had the same problem. White distorted lines randomly appearing on the screen, seems to happen after waking up from sleep mode.

I've done a lot of research and this has been an issue since 3-4 years ago. Seems to stop if you turn it off and back on. Other's suggest downgrading to DisplayPort 1.2 from 1.4 in the settings to get it to stop, key word being DOWNGRADE. I've even seen some people suggest creating a custom resolution with refresh rate 143 or lower to get it to stop. Why are all the solutions to fix this to downgrade the features that I've paid for and why is this still an issue 4 years later? And yes I've used the display port cable provided and even a separate vesa certified 8k cable, nothing works.

Samsung website shows current firmware is 1005.3 yet all three that I've tried have had 1007.1 installed. With this monitor being in a recent Black Friday deal you're going to have a ton of people complaining about this.

Please release a firmware that fixes this.

EDIT: WHY isn't the Odyssey G5 34" even listed in your associated products dropdown list when creating this post? It only shows the 27" model.

Common Problems:

1. White Distorted Lines After Sleep Mode:

This is a known issue with some monitors in the Odyssey series, and many users have noted it, particularly when waking from sleep mode.

2. Temporary Fixes Involve Downgrades:

Using DisplayPort 1.2 or custom refresh rates (e.g., 143 Hz instead of 144 Hz) might work but aren't ideal since they reduce the advertised functionality of the monitor.

3. Firmware Confusion:

The firmware discrepancy (1007.1 installed vs. 1005.3 listed on the website) suggests inconsistency in Samsung's updates or communication.

4. Product Listing Issues:

The lack of proper listing for the 34" model on Samsung's support forms further complicates seeking help and demonstrates a gap in their system.

We are having the same reported issue with the same monitor purchased just days ago.  We have tried all crappy workarounds mentioned here and in other threads and nothing so far has resolved the issue.

Firmware version is 1007.1

Thanks for pointing that out, unfortunately 1008.3 hasen't fixed the problem.
I too have attempted all the downgrading work arounds, and I have also tried different cables, both hdmi and displayport.

Edit: I will point one thing out though, I have experienced a reduction in frequency and length of time, so perhaps that is a sign they are headed in the right direction, but still needs more work.

Update: since the previous edit of last previous post (roughly 2 weeks before this post), I have adjusted my pcs power settings to this while using monitor firmware version 1008.3.

-turn off (never)
-Sleep (never)
-Power plan ( ultimate Performance )

and I have reduced my frequency and duration to absolute zero, to date.
can anyone else replicate this outcome with the above settings and firmware version?

Can this be replicated on previous firmware versions?

Thanks.
