Back in March I bought a 9100 4TB SSD.
I cloned my existing Windows install from a 990 Pro to the new drive. All has been working well
The other day I tried to do an 'in-place upgrade' of Windows using the latest Microsoft ISO
The upgrade seemed to be working ok, but after the first restart I had a problem. The Windows spinning circle kept going for about a minute, then I got a BSOD 'SETUP_FAILURE'
Restarting the PC I got the Windows logo and nothing else, wouldn't boot
I restored an image file and it was fine again
I've tried this twice now with the same failure/error both times.
I have no other crashes on my PC, everything is stable
I did an in-place upgrade back in Feb and it worked, the only thing different this time is the 9100 which I bought in March.
I've never actually installed Windows on this drive.
Is it possible Windows trips up trying to install on the 9100? It's not had any firmware updates since launch

Sounds like the 9100 might not fully play nice with the Windows setup process, especially if it’s a bit older or lacks firmware updates. Cloning works fine, but clean install or upgrade could be hitting some compatibility snag. Maybe try checking for updated drivers/firmware or slipstream NVMe drivers into the ISO?
