I've had this monitor for about a month now, coming from the Neo G9 that I had since released with absolutely no issues. I regret this "upgrade". Here's just a few issues I've been having....
- Intermittent black screens on both DisplyPort and HDMI inputs
PC is connected via DisplayPort, Xbox SX is connected via HDMI. It does not matter what settings I have configured for either device, it will intermittent black screens only while gaming. This issue is not present when the Xbox is sitting at the dashboard, or when the PC is sitting at the desktop and/or normal PC use outside of gaming.
Have tried multiple settings on both PC and monitor; G-Sync on and off, VRR on and off, Adaptive Sync on and off, HDR on and off etc. Nothing solves this issue
- Black screen when exiting 16:9 games
As we know, not all games support 32:9 and some games will scale a 16:9 resolution to your monitor. One game that does this is PUBG. To solve this I first started to change the monitors aspect ratio (32:9 to 16:9) via game bar while I had the game running, but once I exited the game the monitor would go black. In order to get an image again, I would have to go into game bar and change the aspect ratio back to 32:9. So then I started to change the monitors ratio before running the game. My desktop displays fine, at a 16:9 ratio. Game starts up in 16:9 but then when I exit the game I'm met with the same black screen. I need to go back into game bar and change the aspect ratio to 32:9 to get the image back.
Now the above issue may not sound too bad, but while I'm in game at 16:9 and have to open Steam for whatever reason (notification, message, voice chat etc.), the monitor also goes and stays black until I switch the aspect ratio.
- Cannot view BIOS
I just recently discovered this issue a few days ago. This monitor will not display my motherboards BIOS (ROG CROSSHAIR X670E HERO). When I try to enter the BIOS, the monitor will display a message that there is an error with the connected device and will turn off in XX seconds. I've tried multiple desktop settings; lower resolution, lower refresh rate etc. Nothing worked, wasted a bunch of time on something so simple that a cheap monitor can handle.
The above issues are not acceptable, especially for a high end gaming monitor. This is no upgrade from my Neo G9, as I had no issues whatsoever. There are topics on Samsung's own community about the intermittent black screening (which seems to be the number one issue), and all over reddit and other forums and Samsung as been silent. Last firmware version 1402.6 was released back in March. Either Samsung is lazy to fix these issues via an update or the issues cannot be fixed with an update. Either way, Samsung needs to address this.

I figured out when I cannot view the BOIS, or even the post screen. Both resolutions are 720x480, which this monitor does not support....

I have this same issue with my G95SC as well. At first I thought my video card was dying... I have the same issues when exiting out certain games that are in certain resolution modes or it could be when the activesync is in 240hz mode going back into a desktop from a game or benchmark exit I get a black screen. This has been frustrating because Ive had this monitor since November and haven't had any issues. I believe I had FW ver 1402 then (no issues like this at all) recently an upgrade came out of nowhere to 1402.6 and I updated it. The same games and benchmarks I used prior now go black on exit. The only way to get a screen back is to go into GAME menu of the monitor and turn off game mode then turn it back on and that seems to work, but thats a horrible workaround. Samsung needs to address this. I also updated my NVIDIA drivers to 555.99 as well not sure if that could be doing something as well. Im going to downgrade the drivers back to 546.33 to see if it still have the same issue

Exactly the same issue with the new update. Didn't have this issue on the original 1402.6 few months ago.
Samsung? Hello?
As soon as I try running 3DMark, it goes black. Doesn't lose connection, not turning off, just black screen. Have to either reconnect cable or change screen ratio which is not an acceptable workaround.
I even reinstalled windows because I thought that finally after 7 years it's acting up. Nope! Nvidia studio drivers or game ready drivers, tried various versions with clean installs. And of course it's impossible to downgrade the firmware also.

Well I am having a service tech look at it tomorrow. I have heard some people finding resolutions to their issues after mainboards are replaced.... Shouldnt have to take that to fix it... but I would like a resolution to my issue.

I found that my black screens stopped when I changed to 120Hz in windows. Was running 240Hz fine before the update. Haven't had any issues since I changed in. Of course that is not a fix, just a workaround until a new update is pushed. But who knows what's gonna be the next issue.

Thats what Im currently doing as well, but thas not really acceptable imo. I want it @ 240hz as advertised. If samsung would just say something it could take a lot of frustration out of this situation.

Well the service tech came and updated the mainboard and Im still having the issue. What DP cables are you guys using by the way? I misplaced the original cables and was using hi quality DP cable. The one that came with the monitor is #BN39-02651A, I might order this cable again. It does look a bit different from the standard cables I currently have.

I'm using the original cable that came with the monitor. Have tried HDMI which had even more issues, so sticking with the DP. And with RTX 3080Ti should be perfectly capable of displaying max resolution @ 240Hz like before the update.

I'm using both a Maxonar DP 1.4 for my PC and Moxonar HDMI 2.1 cable for my Xbox SX. I have been using these same two cables when I got the Neo G9 when that was released. No issues with that monitor at all.
Here is one thing I have noticed the other night. While playing Xbox via HDMI and PC screen is off (I have screen to turn off after 10 mins, PC never goes to sleep) and when I move my mouse, that's when the black screen happens via HDMI. Then after 10 mins another black screen happens, when the PC is turning the screen off. I can always replicate this issue. I have no idea what is causing this same issue with DisplayPort, unless the Xbox is constantly trying to shake hands with the monitor.
