Hi All,
I'm nominating myself for "Dumb User of the week award"
I was getting black lines when printing and they had got to the point that they were annoying. I googled it and found a video showing how to clean the transfer unit. That seems simple enough. I opened the printer, remove the transfer unit and sure enough it was pretty grubby so I cleaned it. All good so far.
When I replaced the transfer unit the door wouldn't close, I tried so many times and it won't go back in. I don't want to break anything. I thought I'd remove the toners so I could see what was stopping it. I can't get the toners out. It seems the right hand side is locked/jammed somehow. Its like the mechanism locks when the transfer unit is in (except mine isn't) This explains why the door wont close too. If I remove the transfer unit the door shuts fine.
I am completely stuck and wish I'd left it alone.
Is my diagnosis correct?
Is there a way to unlock the mechanism so I can close the door with the transfer unit fitted ?
Hoping there is a friendly engineer who can help me out here.
Cheers
Dave

Double-check that the transfer unit is correctly aligned and seated. If it's misaligned, it can prevent the toner cartridges from being removed and the door from closing properly. With the transfer unit properly installed, gently attempt to release the toner cartridges. If they remain locked, there might be an internal latch or mechanism engaged that requires careful manipulation to disengage.
