I have the 49" G93SC Odyssey OLED G9 240Hz Gaming Monitor and i have had a problem with the monitor not displaying anything when i turn on my pc. This has now happened twice in 6 days. I have used Samsung's own cable as well as my own. When this happened last time i plugged in my old monitor and connected it using the display port cable and the monitor came on straight away so that rules out any dodgy cables. I even tried the HDMI port on the Samsung monitor and still no picture?? I turned the monitor off fully by the plug and left it for 5 mins before turning back on and then i got a picture through the display port.
Follow on....
Ok so after using my computer and monitor today a notification popped up saying screen optimisation will resume once the monitor is off. So after shutting down my computer i left the monitor on to do the screen optimisation. After an hour or so i went back to my computer and noticed the monitor had gone into standby mode (little red led showing) so i though great its finished doing what it needed to do. So i turn my computer back on and nothing showing on screen?? So it has now done it a third time!! i even tried a new display port cable that arrived today which cost me over 20 quid and still no screen showing. I then went to try the hdmi port and still nothing?? The only way i got my monitor to detect either the hdmi or display port was to fully turn it off by the plug......i left this for 5 to 10 mins and turned my computer back on as well as the monitor and voila.....the monitor is back on and showing an image. So my question is.....does the monitor need to be turned off all the time if not using it or just leave it on standby after using it??? this needs to be sorted by samsung as it must be some sort of firmware issued? I will be getting in touch with samsung support on monday to ask this very question as it is a lot of money to be paying out for a monitor that is doing this weird thing right??

Hi,
I have same problem with my 49" G95SC Odyssey G9 OLED.
I bought on 08/12/2023.
Unfortunately I couldn't find any solution for this problem yet. Very annoying, and dissapointing mostly in this High End product category and for this price.
I hope a new firmware upgrade will be solve this issue.

Hi, I basically have the same issue with my Samsung G93SC (Model: LS49CG934SUXEN) since I bought it a few months ago. Sometimes the Monitor will turn on normally, but most of the time, especially when turned off over night or for more than a few hours, the following happens (I have set my red Power LED so that it is on, when the Monitor ist in Stand-by):
- Monitor is in Stand-by (switched off with the power connected) -> red Power LED is on
- when I switch the Monitor on by pressing the jog, the Power LED is off (signalling the Monitor should be on)
- but the screen stays black - even the Samsung Logo is not showing (or sometimes showing very briefly for about 1 second - then nothing)
- pressing the jog does not seem to do anything (no menu comes up - an the LED stays off)
- it does not matter, if I switch on the Monitor or the PC first (connected with DP 1.4)
- I then only get the Monitor to fire up, when I cut the power completely for at least a few seconds and then put the power back on
- then the Monitor first shows the Samsung Logo an then the Samsung Odyssey Logo
- after the it runs normally - until I switch it off for more than an hour or so
I already tried the following things:
- Factory reset (a few times already - via the Monitors support menu)
- turned off / on all power saving functions (does not seem to make any difference)
- installed the last two firmware updates (1007 a few months ago, and then 1009 a few weeks ago)
- 1007 changed nothing (exept for the pixel shift function, as far as I remember)
- 1009 seemed to work for 2 days, but afterwards the G93SC turned back to old habits
So - will this problem really get fixed by a future firmware update, or is it a hardware defect? Then the only way to get this fixed would be to have my G93SC repaired (or replaced) by Samsung. What do you guys think about that?

Hi Rippers,
thanks for your answer.
I remember that reddit post - I had already tried the 1007.1 firmware a few months ago (bought the monitor around the end of October 2024). That didn't fix my problem. I have also tried the firmware update 1009, which came out in January this year.
The Monitor is connected to my graphics card (Geforce RTX 4070 Ti) via DP. Already tried all the DP ports of the Geforce - with no difference. I think, I've also tried the HDMI connection (allthough I'm not completely sure about that - so will try hooking it up via the available HDMI port of the RTX card). As written above, I have this monitor since End of October 2024 (so about 4.5 months now).
So - I will at least try hooking it up via HDMI once again - and maybe I will flash it back to the 1007.1 firmware once again and check, if it fixes anything this time. May not be able to do this before next weekend though.
I will keep you posted. Thanks.
