Morning
I got my G9 OLED last week and noticed quite often when i switch on my PC and get to the desktop I get flickering as shown in the video below
I have tried a different Display port cable and the one that came with it, also updated the firmware on monitor and running latest Nvidia drivers, I thought it might be something to do with running a 2nd monitor so unplugged that but still get the issue.
I had the first G9 before this and worked 100% fine nothing else was changed. Running an RTX 3090.
Should I be returning the monitor?

I have the same issue, doesent matter if i use Dp or Hdmi. I Used many Cables cheap and expensive ones it did not solve the Problem.
Hopefully they can fix it with a Firmware Update. Its my second Oled g9 and both of them have the issue.

Did you just turn your monitor off to take a picture? lol. Jokes aside, I believe you, many who thought they found a solution by switching the cable , they did not wait long enough, issue returned. This could be due to what I have noticed, if I unplug HDMI cable from either GPU or the monitor making it lose the signal, plug it back in. It takes a lot longer to come back to intermittent black screens again.

I have the exact same issue. When my monitor powers off while PC is on and then I turn it back on, it happens. Also happens if monitor is off while booting up and then turn on monitor.
I find switching the refresh rate from 240 to 120/60 then back again resolves the problem. I think an update will fix this.
My PS5 also does a similar thing sometimes on the Samsung Q60R TV.

Its so anoying... for me it happens for example in Baldurs gate 3 when a Cutscene starts or when i open the Map in the Witcher 3. Not everytime but often.

So, switching to hdmi 2.1 helps or not?
UPD: I switched to hdmi 2.1 cable and it really helped, now the monitor works without any problems plus with hdmi it also supports 12bit colors.

Sadly not, i use a Hdmi 2.0 cable but i still have flickering in Baldurs gate3
and The Witcher 3. I completed Horizon zero Dawn, both Spiderman titles and the Dead space remake without any issues.

Mine started flickering, and then I removed the HDMI cable, thinking it must be because of the cable. It kept flickering even then...

Hey all, so story time. I currently have a G93SC. I started with a G95SC. The 95 had this flickering issue, and I could reproduce it. For me, it happened every time I right-clicked my desktop. I have an app called WindowFX 6 that adds animations to most right-click menus, and every time it would play that animation, it would trigger the problem, same as what this initial video is showing. I used the cable from the box and hooked up via DisplayPort to my 3090. It was happening enough that it was driving me crazy, so I looked into it and updated the firmware. No dice, no difference whatsoever. I said ***** it and returned the 95 to best buy.
I bought the G93 instead because of this flickering issue, and because I heard the 93 was more of a monitor than the 95, which is more like a TV. (On the 95, things like switching the source or doing split screen are a pain in the ass requiring several clicks, or require internet (??), whereas on the 93 they don't. Also, the PBP on the 93 allows for a 1:2 ratio split rather than only 1:1. I find the menu a lot faster, better, and less annoying.. but I do miss the 95's remote.
Anyhow, with the 93, although the issue is SIGNIFIANTLY less frequent, and no longer happens when I right click at all strangely, it does still happen on occasion, completely randomly. On days when it's happening, it's maybe once every 10 minutes or so.. long enough between that I'd never be able to catch it on camera most likely, but it is still there. I'm not sure that anything on the screen triggers it like it was before.. it's almost like something else like pixel shifting that doesn't happen often is triggering it. There definitely seems to be issues with this monitor's firmware. I updated the firmware on this one too (which requires hooking up a USB drive to a specific port with the firmware on it, and again saw no improvement. I'll contact Samsung but I doubt I'm going to get any resolution.. I have my settings dialed in and they were horrendous out of the box, so I refuse to do a factory reset or anything they're going to want to do. I don't know if it's worth returning it to get another at this point.. lot of work and I may end up right back in the same boat. To those of you that did, is the problem fully resolved now?
