This past December, I purchased the Samsung Odyssey G70B - 32" 4k Monitor, model #LS32BG702ENXGO
When I turn my PC on, about 50% of the time, the monitor just goes to that "you have 60 seconds for DP to be detected or it turns off" screen. My second monitor, some old Dell 1440p, running on displayport, ZERO issues and detected 100% of the time. Now, if I unplug my G7 DP at the monitor and plug it back in, it seems to work. That, or I have to restart the PC and hope it detects it.
I have a very high end PC, 7950x, RTX4090, 64gb DDR5 ram, etc... all with the latest drives. I used this monitor on my secondary PC with a 2080ti, same issue.
I have updated every driver and firmware possible, nothing has fixed this. Any ideas?

@Im4Christ it's interesting that you have the 702N and it's exhibiting the same issue. Is this strictly with Display Port as well or is it also having the problem with HDMI?
I would strongly suggest that you call the business team and create a case with them just so you have it in the system.

So I tried the force detection of a TV and it appears to have worked, at least while the monitor is in standby. I haven't tried turning it off yet, just letting it go to standby which is fine for me. As long as I can turn on my computer and it will turn on with it like my LG 35" Ultrawide does, I'm happy with that. It is still a pain to deal with the switching between inputs, but I'll just learn to work with that. I bought this as a monitor first and a smart tv second.

I'm glad that's working for you. It was already set on mine and had no effect on the performance. So as of this moment, I'm unable to even use the DP on my 700N.
What GPU are you using? And are you on Windows 10 or Windows 11?
I'm waiting for Tier 3 support to chime in on my ticket.

@Gridsquare @Metalskin or anyone else. I'm not sure if you're still having the issue but I wanted to give a little update to another test I've performed.
Given the various models we're all dealing with here; 32", 43" I thought it might be interesting to see if I could replicate the issue on a new model which was the same as my own.
So I purchased a brand new 700NNXZA from Best Buy. At the time it was more or less intended to be an exchange unit to ensure I had an extended period in which to return and get my money back as well as see if the problem persists across new units in the wild.
The shipper, UPS in this instance, was not exceptionally kind to the parcel. It had a few spots where the box had been exposed to significant compression but no punctures. There were some noticeable marks on the display as well but I'm not here to jam them up at the moment.
Just as you might expect, the issue with the Display Port was the same as with my current monitor. Out of the box, the new unit was unable to recognize that it had been plugged into an input fed by DP 1.4. I tried a couple things, as well as a new GPU and the same issue is present.

Still having problems. I have found some work arounds to make life less painful, but there is still a lot of pain!
- If I remember to turn off the monitor before it detects that it's lost signal (by shutting down my computer), and then turn it on manually, after I have started my computer, then everything is good. Monitor detects my computer, but not until after the bootup sequence from the MB. So I will get the "not detected" UI for about 10 to 20s depending on how long I waited to turn on the monitor.
- If I let the monitor go into sleep mode when I turn off my computer, then when I turn on my computer, it will come out of sleep mode, but then goes to the "Cannot detect" UI and eventually goes back into sleep mode. The only way to resolve this is by physically disconnecting the DP cable at the back of the monitor and reconnecting it.
- If I get up from my computer and manually turn off the monitor, and then when I come back first use the mouse/keyboard to wake up my computer and then turn on the monitor, then all good.
- If I get up from my computer and do nothing, when I come back the monnitor is in power saving mode. I press the keyboard, monitor wakes up, but then goes through the "No Device" UI and will then turn off. I have to physically disconnect the DP cable at the back of the monitor and reconnect it.
- If I use HDMI on my laptop, let it go into sleep mode by walking away and wake up the laptop when I get back, then the monitor wakes up fine and detects the device.

I'm also having the same issues, and after reading everyone who's in the same boat I'm really disappointed with the lack of quality from such an expensive monitor.

I have the Samsung Odyssey G7 though slightly different model numbers to others LS32BG700EUXEN.
Also having this DisplayPort issue too and been unable to resolve it. Super frustrating. I have one other monitor a BenQ used for design/UX work connected to the PC as a second monitor via DisplayPort. No issues with that.
The Samsung connected via HDMI 2.1 to RTX4090 is okay 90% of the time - but occasionally would drop the signal on recovering from sleep which I could work around similar to solutions Metalskin reported. I was getting fed up with that though so bought a DisplayPort 2.0 cable hoping would stop me having to mess around. No such luck.
Basically this monitor is 'mostly' fine when connected via HDMI 2.1 (I would hasten to add the video displayed is one of the best I've ever seen for gaming and with GSync games like CyberPunk look absolutely stunning). With DisplayPort though - no luck at all.
The thing is, for simple things like just connecting devices the OS and usability of the device management is terrible. The input selection is dire (I connect three devices in total and they're all selectable as PC though going in to different inputs... hard to differentiate them).
I've tried things suggested by all (thanks for people recommending those) and just wanted to put out there I too am having this issue, but can't resolve it even temporarily like some (including Win 11 to force as TV). I think I can see why this monitor was on sale in Nov last year when I picked it up... I've always found Samsung products to be reliable but so disappointed with this one...

Hi @liketearsinrain and @Chaosrelic ... I'm sorry to hear you're in the same boat.
Have either of you attempted to call into their Business Display group like I suggested? If not, it's probably a good thing to do sooner than later. I don't know how often, or even if at all, their team actually looks at these posts. The only way to be sure your complaints are heard and documented is to get into the system.
Call 866-726-4249 Options # 3, # 1 and then # 2.
I would NOT suggest calling into the standard support team. It's riddled with scripted responses and attempts to schedule a service tech visit. These larger monitors are part of the Business Display product and issues for them are dealt separately.
I'd call into this group even if I didn't have the 43" simply because I feel like it's a higher tier of support. But that's just my opinion.

I just want to add that I'm having the same issues with my 4090. Game Mode causes big issues for me. It won't even detect my PC when it's on and it's frustrating because it always switches to Game Mode even when I don't have it set to Auto.
I have mine turned down to 1440p because I can't get my Pimax Crystal to come on when I'm at 4k. I'm guessing this is a bandwith issue, but even with my 4090?

Will try checking the monitor configuration, if I cba to torment myself with that annoying screen adjustment roller.
Most of my issues are it won't be detected in bios, so have to use 2nd dell screen.
And things normally fix themselves with removing power lead, or display port cable, and occasionally harsh language.
