Hi everybody!

I encountered a very nasty problem after trying to set Over provisioning on my Evo 860 1TB SSD. Range proposed by Software was between 1% and 5%. I agreed with automatic selection of 5% and proceed but it was unable to do anything and was giving me a error that I must decrease the size of my partition (900GB at this time). After the second attempt to do it with 4% only, the famous “Windows blue screen” appeared  with the System Memory error and after restart it took 1h (one hour !!!! 😠😠)  for windows to restart. In the meantime it was not accepting any command.

Also it took 2h (two hours 😡) for Windows to shut down.

Laptop: Windows 7 professional, 16GB RAM DDR3, Samsung 860 EVO 1TB (4months old, genuine SSD), Samsung Magician.

Somebody have any idea what is wrong or how to solve it?

Thanks a lot!

FYI, this details I’m writing from company PC which don’t have any issue because it doesn’t have a SSD 😀. I will not be able to reply till tomorrow morning 9AM (GMT + 4).

Yes but managed to restart faster. Do you have any idea what should be the size of the partition for over provision to work?
