Hi All,

Here a group to gather all who are interested in pursuing Samsung against the faulty screen design of the galaxy book laptops that lead to an issue of durability of the screen which is prone to physical damage even when used with reasonable care!

I believe many of you are facing a similar problem I have! That is why I came up with an idea to gather more people as possible to start a Group Court action against Samsung for screens design fault for galaxy book laptops.

Please state you interest to go through with it and let our reasons to be heard!

Regards,

Laura

Hi David,

I hear you, and I still believe this laptop was not designed to be used on the go or as a tablet. The screen is extremely fragile and delicate, so it’s not surprising that it cracks easily.

My laptop was collected and inspected by a Samsung technician, and—unsurprisingly—they confirmed it had sustained physical damage due to an improper amount of pressure. Even Currys had initially reported it as physical damage.

What no one has acknowledged, however, is the possibility of a design flaw that makes the screen inherently prone to cracking—raising serious concerns about the device’s durability.

After a year of not being able to fully use the laptop, I am at least grateful that Samsung agreed to replace it free of charge. I really feel for others who haven't been as fortunate, which is why I will leave this post up. If anyone wants to know more about my experience, I'm happy to share the details.

To everyone is writing on this thread, I invite you to follow this group on facebook and share your experience here on this google form.
I'm from Italy. My experience is the same I read here.
They said that my device self-broke the display because of my miss-usage.

I'm collecting as much details as possible from all around Europe and I'll be glad to share experiences, and specific details with who is interested.

As just as I'll have an acceptable quantity I'll begin a lawsuite against the company.

Note that my company has an assurance and I already got the refund so for me is not matter of money.

May you write a direct message with details of what you wrote and who is the Samsung representative you got in touch with?

Not everyone is a Facebook user. I think this right here is the place to share experiences and plan legal actions. Or other Samsung forums. You might want to take a look at this thread in the Italian forum:
https://eu.community.samsung.com/t5/computer-e-monitor/display-rotto-galaxy-book-pro-360/m-p/8982407

I am a Galaxy Book 360 very 1st generation Italian owner, with a cracked screen and a very well documented denial by Samsung representatives. I don't understand why your Google form is missing an option for my version.

I did not find report from users owning your device. I just added your model in the list.

I read many threads on the forum hosted by Samsung and one is originated by me

Now I'm trying to collect as many bad experiences as possible and I'm thinking to share the contents with AGCM in Italy, Altroconsumo (still in Italy), ECC-Net Italia (EU).

  • Summary of Events Regarding Faulty Samsung Galaxy Book3 360 Laptop

Customer: Laura

Product: Samsung Galaxy Book3 360

Retailer: Currys (Tottenham Court Road, London)

Purchase Date: 27 November 2023

Price Paid: £649.00

Payment Method: Finance plan through Creation Consumer Finance Ltd.

---

Timeline and Description of the Issue:

27 November 2023: I purchased the Samsung Galaxy Book3 360 from Currys. The laptop appeared to function correctly at first, but I noticed a visual issue on the screen which I initially believed to be a pixel defect.

Early December 2023: Due to an unexpected jury service commitment and work obligations, I was unable to return the laptop immediately. However, I returned it to the Currys store as soon as I could.

11 December 2023: I returned the laptop to Currys, who sent it to their repair centre for evaluation. I was confident in their customer service based on my experience at the time of purchase.

20 December 2023: The laptop was returned to me with a report from the engineer stating it was "beyond repair" due to physical damage, which was not covered under warranty. However, I never dropped or mishandled the device. The crack appeared on the top-left corner of the screen and may have been present from the beginning, only noticeable once the laptop was fully opened.

21 December 2023: With help from Citizens Advice Bureau, I sent a formal complaint letter to Currys under the Sale of Goods Act 1979, requesting a full refund.

10 January 2024: Having received no reply, I sent a second letter ("letter before court claim") giving Currys 14 days to respond, also expressing willingness to resolve the matter through Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). Again, I received no reply.

26 January 2024: I contacted Creation Finance and raised a Section 75 claim under the Consumer Credit Act 1974. Despite providing evidence and supporting letters (including a witness statement), they rejected my claim on 16 February 2024.

Following Rejection: I filed a complaint with the Financial Ombudsman Service. They acknowledged the case was "finely balanced" but ultimately sided with Creation, stating that the damage likely occurred while the laptop was in my possession.

Further Steps Taken:

I gathered community evidence of similar issues from other Samsung users and shared a relevant post on the Samsung EU forum.

I was advised by another consumer to contact Isobelle Paulucci at BBC’s Rip Off Britain and Sean Archer, President of Samsung UK, which I did.

Samsung UK responded, collected the laptop for inspection, and—while maintaining that the issue was due to physical damage—noted that they would offer a one-time free screen replacement as a goodwill gesture.

---

Current Status:

The issue remains officially unresolved in terms of liability, but Samsung has offered to replace the screen once free of charge, without admitting fault or design flaw. Currys and Creation Finance have refused to take further action, despite the fact I am still paying instalments

for a product that was faulty from the start.

Same happened to me today.

My recently bought book5 pro 360 got a crack in the display without any external physical damage.

I was using it with an external mouse. The crack was sharp and audible like the sound ice makes when dropped into hot water. It was clear the glass had been tightly fitted into the metal frame, and the change in temperature must have caused it to shift or expand, leading to the break.

It's a design or manufacturing issue.

Im here to pursuit Samsung.

Your best bet is to contact Sean Archer @ Samsung. He is already aware of multiple cases, whether he admits that to you or not is another story. But a fair few of us have contacted him and either had the screen fixed free of charge or a "goodwill gesture"payment. They refuse to acknowledge any fault. And are keeping it all internal. So goodness knows what's going to happen when more and more people keep coming forward, surely it can't be hidden forever!

Contact Sean Archer, explain everything. And make him aware that you yourself are aware of plenty of other people with same issue!

I would like to be included in a lawsuit against Samsung.  I have a Galaxy Book computer and have the same issue of the hinge breaking and the screen cracking making the computer unuseable.  The first time it happened was about three years after I purchased the computer and I was able to get it replaced for a fee after a lot of discussion back and forth with Samsung, now two years later after repair the hinge is broke again and screen is coming out.
