Samsung SSD (any version) as an external hard disk

Is it possible and recommended to use the Samsung SSD (any version) as an external hard disk? thanks

Yes it's possible, but for what? External hard disk have always a very slow interface compared to a internal hard disk, so what would be the advantage of using a ssd, instead of a traditional hdd?

I have an external samsung ssd in a 2.5" box, because i'm not so careful, and the last external hd, after few drops from the table, stopped working.
With ssd, and no mechanical parts, i have no fear about lost my data
maybe it's the same for the other friend
