I recently got a new sound bar. It connects fine with no issues and I can control the volume with the Samsung remote but I no longer have a number for the volume, only a plus / minus when I move the volume up and down. Is there anyway to have the numbers appear?

There is no fix. Samsung told me they intentionally do that since their sound bar displays volume. It is a software command that could be easily changed, but they won't. Doesn't help people with limited vision. They said people with Samsung sound bars complained because both TV and sound bar showed volume, so they took it off the TV. Last Samsung TV I'll buy.

Very shortsighted of Samsung. I’ll definitely think twice before I buy any more Samsung electronics.

I’m really annoyed as I thought I bought a top brand TV paid over $3,000 and my Polka Soundbar which doesn’t show the volume won’t show on the TV either they won’t do an easy software update to fix it this ! Shame on Samsung!

It's crazy how Samsung puts so little effort into engaging the community or it's own customer service. Why does it take 75 minutes and being transferred to 4 different "specialists" to get zero results or answers or anyone who has any actual conversational skills and logic? We've spent thousands on your products, you need to do better.

Nope. Doesn't work...

When I called samsung that's what they told me to do. It's worked for me more than once. Sorry it didn't work for you. Try unplugging the TV. The issue is on the TV end, not the sound bar. Good luck

I have this too, Frame TV and Samsung soundbar. It comes and goes with neither rhyme nor reason. I can usually get it back to the numbers by scrolling through various settings (input/sound/on-off). I have a similar issue with Q-Symphony mode only working when it feels like it. I specifically bought the Samsung soundbar for compatibility, but having had Samsung products before I really shouldn't be surprised at how bad their software is. I'll maybe remember next time I'm buying.

I've had this problem on my QN90A for quite a while but finally decided to search for a solution. The method suggested on 19-11-2021 by zkzk also worked for me.
I am using a Polk React soundbar using HDMI. I paired and connected via Bluetooth and saw no difference using the soundbar or the tv remote. So I gave up and turned off Bluetooth using the soundbar remote. The TV automatically reverted back to the HDMI connection and the volume numbers reappeared.

It's good that it worked for you and you could get them back, but you're only doing what I do, which is change the mode until a change causes some sort of reset. In other words it's not a programmed way of turning them on, it's similar to the "did you turn you computer off and on" solution so loved by support desks. It's bad programming. My experience is that a method that works once doesn't always work the same way next time. Furtunately I've had a while without the problem now, long may it continue.
