Samsung U28R550UQP monitor takes 10 s to wake up

I bought a couple of Samsung 28" 4K monitors (U28R550UQP) as external monitors for my MacBooks. The Samsung monitors have a great panel but it takes them 10 seconds to wake up from the power saving mode. (The Mac wakes up in about 1 s, the external monitor takes another 9 to 10 seconds.) - Is there a way to fix this?

Seems to be common in Windows and Mac OSs. Some report Display Port connection works better bit I don't know anything about Mac OS.
I would think this is connection related. I would also try HDMI connections, too.
