Hello, a few days ago my Q800C soundbar has auto-updated to the latest firmware "1003.6".
This has introduced a bug where "DTS HD MA" audio codec can no longer be played. The soundbar displays "Stereo PCM" even though the content has "DTS HD MA 7.1".
This used to work on previous firmware "1002.0". No other changes to physical connections, nor software was made.
Is there any way to manually downgrade firmware?

Sorry about the heated argument. It is nothing personal, and I know everyone is just trying to help, and provide meaningful information.
I just cannot understand the "design philosophy" behind their choices... If we look at our argument/discussion, it is simply about interpreting how HDMI passthrough works (or should work).
In my understanding it should be a simple passive rerouting of the signal from the original source (external device) via the TV; untouched, unprocessed and simply forwarding towards any responsible downstream devices, such as the compatible Soundbar. This way the TV does not need to have any control/parsing logic and would not break any compatibility for the devices in the chain.
While Kopicha, you are saying that all devices in the chain, including the TV, need to have capabilities to recognize DTS content and pass it through to the end device (soundbar), even with digital audio passthrough. In other words, the TV passthrough needs to be DTS compatible in order to work on the soundbar when routing through the TV.
Again, I believe this is objectively stupid and paradoxical of Samsung and the HDMI forum.
And to mention once more what caused additional frustration, disbelief and insanity on my end...
DTS passthrough worked on my S90C with firmware 1220.9 and Q800C with firmware 1002.0; I am sure of this, since I've watched several DTS only BluRay movies on it. It worked so seamlessly, that even the SB display showed "DTS HD" when using the info button on the remote... Not only that, but I was able to reproduce this exact behavior even with the 1003.6 SB firmware, but it was extremely finicky and unusable, even though the TV "does not officially support DTS passthrough".
This simply means that there is nothing actually stopping the TV from redirecting the signal straight to the SB. Only artificial blockers put in place by design from Samsung. Which, by the way, make no sense for their business as pointed in your previous comment here. Unbelievable 😞
I've written about my attempts to diagnose and reproduce DTS passthrough in this and in the newer comments: https://www.rtings.com/soundbar/reviews/samsung/hw-q800c#comment-83307

I believe you because something similar happened to me but with the latest firm in S90c and 800C. It was during a while, connected my BD to the TV and the to the SB, it delivered DTS (it was serving DTS and the sounder giving it). Five, six times... no more. It went back to no sound until I changed the output in the BD: then PCM stereo.
Finally I decided to connect the BD directly to the SB. It works but no Q-simphony.
Waiting for a new fw update... will be even worse?
