No sound through sub woofer with HW B530 soundbar

Hi All

Forgive my elementary knowledge of subs. Just connected sound bar (hdmi earc connection to Samsung tv), sd in corner of room.  Sub is plugged in  with steady blue light.

Soundbar is fine but I just can’t hear any sound emanating from sub. It’s like there’s some background buzz but no voices coming through. 

Can someone enlighten me. I know volume goes from -12 to +6  on sub, but that doesn’t seem to make a difference. I note the bass settings in tone control also have same values etc.

Try turning down the volume on the soundbar to -6 for each speaker. Then turn up the TV volume. You should then hear sound from the  sub.  

You won't hear voices just deep bass sounds. Try YouTube and search for subwoofer test. Then play that video. Your sub will lift off the floor!!

Subs don't produce sound persay, try YouTube content. Most TV is only 2.0 so you won't gey much try a movie and try repairing it.
