HW N300 Soundbar question and help

Hi folks. If you can help, let me know.

I had purchased a Sony soundbar and it wasn't compatible with my Samusng QLED TV. So I returned it and got this Samsung one. 

First, I was disappointed to see that there was no HDMI feed on it.

Second, the remote doesn't work that well.

But my two main issues are:

1. When the soundbar is on, so is the tv sound. It was then I noticed there was a delay in the soundbar.

Besides turning the TV volume all the way down and then turning on the soundbar, shouldn't it just mute itself, like it did with the other one I had?  

For the delay issue, the searches I googled all had instructions to use the remote and hit certain buttons, but this remote doesn't have any of those buttons. Anyone else figure out a way to bypass these issues?

Did you manage to get this sorted? Did you adjust the Sound Output on your TV to play through the Soundbar? Go to Home > Settings > Sound > Sound Output.

Thanks for the reply. Yes I tried changing all the settings. 

I will just end up returning it for something better.
