I have a HT-F6500 BluRay surround sound system. Recently the front right channel has developed a fault. Its not the speaker as I have moved speakers and the fault follows the channel rather than the speaker.
It works fine when first switched on, however after a few minutes the front right channel stops and there is just a feint repeating 'knocking' sound. If I switch it off with the remote and then back on again it works for a few minutes, however after 5 minutes or so the audio stops and then this 'knocking' sound returns. If you mute the device the knocking sound remains.
If I switch it off and then on and go to audio settings and run the test tone I can hear the tone on each speaker OK, however if I do this when the fault is happening the front right doesn't emit the tone and I just hear the knocking.
I suspect it is the hardware that has developed a fault. Is it repairable?
