Audio Delay from Xbox Series X

I have just bought a new Xbox Series X console and have it wired into my new Samsung Q90T 2020 TV through the game port and then wired via HDMI  EARC port into my Q800T soundbar.

On setting the console to Dolby Atmos there is a significant audio delay from the soundbar which cannot be rectified through the sync settings on the soundbar or the TV.

I have Netflix on the TV and my satellite box set up also through EARC and there is no issue but the is significant issue with the Xbox sound sync which is quite frankly infuriating.

Is anyone else having this issue, and has anyone found a fix? I have spent a lot of money on a new home cinema set up and cannot watch blu rays because of this.

Keith…with my 850t Samsung, which is atmos compatible, how I would hook up the ShArc up ? Do you mind explaining that again. Your description talked about sending it to non atmos capable avr, I found one of these used for 100 bucks and want to try it out but I wanted to make sure I knew what I needed to do (how to hook it up) before I did it.
ShArc takes hdmi from Xbox and feeds audio to 850t and video to tv ?(one hdmi in 2 out)

No.  SHARC plugs into the eARC HDMI output port on the back of your TV, and then feeds audio out to your receiver over optical or normal HDMI (audio only).  You still plug your Xbox into an HDMI input on your TV.

The TV passes digital formats straight through over eARC without any decoding/reencoding/processing, so that audio output has no delay added.  The SHARC enables non-eARC AV receivers to use that eARC audio output.

So it sounds like it wasn’t designed for my issue, but it should still work? When you say “audio only “to receiver how do I ensure that? I’m assuming one of the ports on the ShArc out , is audio only?
I guess I’m confused with the “enables non earc receivers” part, because the 850t is earc although technically with the Xbox series it doesn’t work, because of the audio delay.

I think I might actually understand finally. So the hdmi cable I used between Samsung q850t earc soundbar and LG CX, I just plug into the audio out part of the ShArc. Then use earc out from lg cx to the ShArc input. The other port on the out of the ShArc remains unused. So by not sending the video along with the audio, it fixes the lag?

Ok I see now there is only one input and one output. That’s really confusing then. How does putting another cog in the wheel speed up the process? But if it worked for you ; I’m all in  I just want to make sure that I am talking apples to apples here, since the Soundbar already is earc.

The SHARC performs decoding/reencoding way faster than the TV does.  You're letting the SHARC do it instead of the TV.

Come on, I emailed Thenaudio and this is their reply :

“The thing is that in most cases the audio coming from TV ARC port is delayed by the TV with respect to video. This means that there really is no way to go back in time to sync them. Sharc wouldn't be able to "take away" delay that is already present”

Can u tell me that u know better than the guys at Thenaudio ? The audio is already delayed as it came out of the tv due to the audio processing within the TV. The only way is for Samsung to add the “pass through”(not earc) mode to avoid audio processing within the TV in order to fix the audio delay problem. The Share device is a great product as it allows for people who do not have an earc compatible receiver to enjoy loudness audio through earc with compatible tv. I am definitely going to buy one but not in terms of fixing audio delay!
