Hello, I recently bought a Smart Tag 2 to put on my bike. I went around town and was great time but when I checked the live view while I was on my bike it showed I was 3 miles away after even refreshing. When when I'm home with the bike parked and outside it thinks that I am in a river 2 miles away from my house. The location history isn't good either When I was riding around the time I went to a store it said I was 4 miles away at a random house when I had the bike with me. I made sure I still had the tracker and I did. Sometimes it will get the location correct when I am at my house but not when I am out actually riding the bike. How can I fix this problem because I'm about to return the product cause what would happen if my bike was actually stolen? It would update the location to random spots and I would lose my bike? Please help!

The trackers are not necessarily live tracking per se but give you a rough idea about where it is.
It depends on other Samsung phones being around it to give a more precise location.
You would also have to manually refresh its location on your phone.
It's basically to save battery.
The more times you keep refreshing the more battery will be consumed.
Also make sure location permissions are allowed all the time for smarthings find .

Hello, I did make sure all location permissions are enabled. Everytime I said refresh I was talking about manual refresh. I know you need other Samsung phones around to give a more precise location but I have a Samsung phone and when I do a Manual Refresh right next to my bike it still shows the wrong locations most of the time. I would say 1/5 times it will get a correct location even when I'm right next to it.

In a car atleast you can hide it .
I find its good within a mile or so for a rough location unless in a busy area where lots of people have Samsung phones around.
I'll just drop the link below if you missed anything but three miles is too much of a distance.
Try parking your bike in a supermarket and see how it does or say near a train station etc.

I hid the tag in the bike frame which is hard to get to because you would have to disassemble the bike to get to it. It is good to have a location within a mile from a thief because you can look for witnesses and pinpoint where the bike is. What I don't get is the tag is showing that the bike is in the middle of the lake when I have it right next to me. Even the "Search Nearby" feature in the SmartThings app doesn't work right, I could have my phone right over it and it will still say "It's not far from here, Move around to find the tag" why would it work like this when the AirTags work flawlessly?

I'd suppose you'd have to do a trial and error.

I placed it in a area that is somewhat plastic and not metal. I will have to try it tomorrow with it on screwed to my seat in a case if I have to

Alright I have been riding the bike around with the tracker zip tied to my seat instead and same results. Every problem is still the same and has not been fixed.
