watch 7 ultra not making or receiving calls

Just set up my watch 7, all is working other than the ability to make and receive calls when connected to o2, has anyone had an issue like this, watch was from Samsung and esim was from o2, the watch says its connected to the o2 network, any help would be appreciated

If you have just setup an esim for the watch.
Sometimes it may take a while to actually become active.

Have you gone through the setup in the watch to setup the esim connection?

Maybe contact O2 if your still experiencing problems

I have installed the esim on the watch and is showing as connected to o2 and 4g, I spoke to o2 support, and they just told me to reset the watch. I tried this and didn't make any difference, but now it's showing emergency calls only. I might pop into an o2 shop and see what they say.

Sounds like something their end is not right.
Best thing to pop into a store. At least they can go and look at the account specifics

I think I have been over thinking how it works, I assumed that when calling from the watch, it would use the esim number, but after a quick Google it looks like it uses the data connection to connect to the phone and uses the phones number, just left my phone at home and took the dog for a walk and called the misses from my watch! will still pop into an o2 shop and confirm if this is how it works

No you are correct it should work remotely but currently the feature doesn't work..loads of threads about it.

I found it to be an issue with the call and text on another device service, I disabled it on both the phone and watch, re-enabled it, and it started working, I found the info on a thread on the o2 customer fourum. tested a few times now by leaving my phone at home and going out. (seems so wrong leaving my phone at home 🤣) works really well.

Interesting, did you just toggle it on and off on both the phone and watch?

Yes on both the phone and watch, I will dig out the o2 link, it should be the same for other network providers

Ah yes please as I can't seem to find where to toggle it on and off on the watch, can only find the setting on the phone.
