Watch 6 won't call or message

I recently got a galaxy watch 6 and an esim from o2, I cannot get the watch to make calls or texts unless connected via Bluetooth to my phone. I have followed all the guides I could find, I've turned on remote calling set up data plan via wearable app, watch is showing its on 02 network and connected to 4g network, I have set up calls and texts from other devices for wi-fi and mobile data and I still get emergency calls only message. Watch will receive WhatsApp messages while not connected via Bluetooth or wi-fi though, which I find strange. Any help much appreciated.

Update: it seems the facer companion app was blocking remote call features, uninstalled app and now calling and messaging works fine.
