Transferring a watch to a new phone and connecting it after a reset fails at around 80%

When I try to transfer my Galaxy watch6 to a new phone using the Galaxy wearable app, at one point starts loading, says it can take a few minutes and a percentage is shown, but when it gets to around 80% (after about 90 seconds), it just goes back to the select bluetooth device screen, and the watch later says it failed. Both are connected to bluetooth and the same samsung and google accounts. I don't have a backup and making one requires connecting the phone.

I made a "backup" by transferring files via bluetooth, and then reset the watch, but it still fails at 80% even when it's not transferring to a new phone but simply connecting to a phone.

Transferring a watch to a new phone can be a bit buggy.

Worse care scenario, reset the watch and it should connect, then restore the cloud backup of the watch

I don't have a cloud backup and making one requires connecting to a phone.

I've had to do mine a few times and it only restored it properly once. The other times I've had to reset it. Smart switch will offer to restore the watch but doesn't usually restore everything.

You can be at it forever.
I just had to reset the watch and then use the backup to set the watch up

I didn't have issues when transferring from the watch 6 to the watch 7 ultra.

I do try to keep the phone screen on by tapping now and then or click the box to keep screen ON if it helps.

Having a backup also probably helps.

I had to do mine yesterday when I left the beta program. Had to reset the watch then smart switch popped up to restore it. Did that then it insisted on doing it again.

So I just installed a file transferring app from google play store, moved the most important files via bluetooth and then tried to reset the watch, but connecting it fails the same way as the no-reset option.
