Hi, I have had a galaxy watch 4 for nearly a year, and used samsung phones for much longer. I read a worrying article saying that samsung sells data to third-parties, not protected by regulations. I cannot make heads or tails with the legalese of the terms and conditions. I have seen the 'consent to processing of of health data' selection in the settings on the phone side, it then tells me that it will delete my data, and as far as I can tell, this is the only option to prevent selling to third parties. Am I missing a setting here, or is it impossible to use the health options on my watch without giving my data to possibly nefarious companies and other entites? The data collected on my watch is very personal to me, and if I cannot choose to have a functioning watch without selling data to third parties, that is worrying to me.

Hi @jmc_82 , Understandable that it would worry you. But to hopefully reassure you: we don't sell customer data to third parties.
There's some perhaps more user-friendly guides about how we use personal data, and how you can manage it here:

And the general Privacy Policy here: https://www.samsung.com/uk/info/privacy/

According to this article Samsung sells personal and wellness data mainly to 3rd party partners such as Google,Instagram and Tiktok. However as a proviso mentions that the company does not directly intrude on users' privacy and some limitation if choose not to use certain functions . https://www.diggitmagazine.com/articles/samsung-health-ethical-concerns-
Samsung's overall privacy policy states that they can share information to affiliates, business partners, service providers, other parties in the event of corporate transactions and when required for legal purposes.
Customers have the right to ask the company about details collected and ask for it to be deleted or corrected. can also request to limit/restrict the processing, sharing and transferring of personal information.

It's the same one as James said. That is very personal data, I love the product, and I'm glad to hear that it doesn't sell data from the horses mouth. You have to be vigilant these days. Thank you all for your answers.
