Samsung watch 6 classic - Every time I move, my watch logs it as exercise activity

Hi,

I recently moved from iphone and apple watch to the Samsung fold z 5 and watch 6 classic so I'm not sure if this is a fault or not.

Every time I move, my watch logs it as exercise activity. For instance, if I walk from one room to another it will not only count my steps but also add time on to my activity such as increasing my activity time by 1 minute.

I do have auto detect on but I thought this only registered after a few minutes of activity.

Maybe I am just used to my apple watch but my exercise activity seems to be grossly over exaggerated since I started using my samsung watch.

Hope this makes sense.

Might be worth trying it without auto detect, but Samsung generally counts it all. If you have the Alert switched on under Auto Detect you'll know if it's treating it as a workout or just activity. I don't know what Apple does but Samsung is essentially monitoring every ounce of activity, whether that's just being on your feet, walking to work, or an actual workout. You just need to look at the results in the 2 different panels in the Samsung Health app - Daily Activity as a general guide and the Exercise one with all your workouts (inc the auto ones) listed as separate things. It's just giving you all the credit you deserve.

Thanks for your help!
Will try and disable auto detect to see the differenc.
Maybe just a learning curve in the move from apple.

But don't leave it off forever or you'll miss out. Like you say, just learning to see things slightly differently?
