Please please please, let us remap the long press action on the back button!

Currently I have the following choices:

  1. SAMUSUNG PAY

Firstly, I don't want to use Samsung Pay on my watch. I don't even want to use Google Pay on my watch. I don't want to pay for things with my watch! I might do, if it was actually convenient, but it's not, it's inconvenient because it means I have to use a lock, and that means unlocking my watch everytime I put it on, and given that the battery runs out everyday, that's just annoying. If I could just use the lock when I wanted to pay for something in an emergency, I might actually use it - sometime, maybe. Probably not. I pay for things with my phone, and there's never been a time when I would have my watch but not my phone with me.

Secondly, I can't actually use it anyway even if I really wanted to. My bank (the biggest in the country) is not supported. I mean seriously? Google Pay supports it, just saying.

So if I don't want to use it, and I can't actually use it, please can I just remap it to something which is actually useful? If I could remap it to the flashlight, that would be infinitely more useful, because that is actually useful.

Samsung Pay is useless, that's not an insult, that is a statement of fact. It has zero usefulness to me.

Please stop telling me what I can and can't do with my watch, give users control to use things how they want and stop forcing your apps down their throats with no option to say no, it's a terrible way to treat your customers!

Just set double press to Home button to launch Google Pay: https://youtu.be/QEHOOUT6D0I?t=250

Sorry Samsung, I want to use the payment service of my choice on the back button. I've paid enough for my watch, trying me to force you to use your products is a d***head manoeuvre.

And why should I use your phone to get other functionality to do with my heart? I paid for a watch to do this.

Stop trying to be Apple, otherwise my next watch will be a Pixel.

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So much YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And it's not just Samsung Pay. So many apps on the watch and phone are pre-installed and have the Uninstall option disabled. Samsung Pay allows you to uninstall it, but it still maps to the long press on the bottom button.

Is there an option to set it that way, or do you just mean you don't press it? I have Samsung Pay uninstalled, and still the button is mapped to it.

But then I can't map the Home button's double-press to something else.

Nearly 2 years have passed since my original post, yet despite plenty of likes and comments, nothing has changed. We might think we own the hardware, but we can only use it the way Samsung want us to.

My phone is an LG V20 from 2016. I stick with it because Incan swap-in a backup battery in seconds. But the V20 can't be upgraded to an OS newer than Android 8.0. And Samsung Pay requires Android 9.0 or newer. So I can't even set up Samsung Pay; I'm stuck with a button action that I can't remap.

Yuck I did not expect the end of this thread to say there was no update.  I was also looking for way to change the bezel slide behavior in the music app.  I only using the Samsung music app for listening to audio books,  the bezel slide just makes me lose my spot.
