Help with notifications for watch 7

My wife has just got the Samsung watch 7. She also has the s24 ultra.

Notifications appear on the phone but not on the watch. 

Can anyone help shed some light on this please

Wearable app > notifications > app notifications > enable the apps required (or all)

Additionally, enable the setting 'show alerts when phone is in use'

I have the same problem, WhatsApp doesn't show the notifications on the watch but SMS organiser does (both are phone apps which show the notifications on the phone). Wearable app notifications are enabled for both, also disabling wrist detections does not help.
