GPS data not appearing for outdoor swim activity

Hi,

I have tried recording outdoor swim activities while swimming in lakes and the sea using the Galaxy watch active.

Samsung health displays the standard data such as heart rate, duration etc, but does not display a map view. 

Does the Galaxy Watch active not record GPS during open water swims?

Yes, gps is on in the settings. The map appears for other outdoor activities such as running.

it used to track and map, now my galaxy watch doesn't track swims through health app at all. I've posted here on several occasions and raised it with Samsung support but still waiting for response and resolution. I plan on resolving by purchasing a Garmin. My watch still tracks and maps runs and cycles fine.

GPS for water activities work on my Watch2 and Watch3 but not for Watch4.  A real bummer.  The Watch4 will be my last Samsung Watch.

When I want to record open water swimming i have to stick my galaxy watch 4 to my buoy... it has to be always above water otherwise doesn't record sh... nothing.
