Can you send messages using WiFi connection whilst phone is switched  off ?

@mingoo: If you phone is switched off, then you would need to enable Mobile Data on your watch (4G variants only) in order to send a message. Alternatively, on the watch, head to Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks > Auto, to use the watch's mobile network when the Bluetooth connection with your phone is disconnected.

Ah ok.. It's not 4g enabled .. so what's the point in having WiFi connectivity then ?? If it can't be used in say home WiFi environment...

@mingoo: You can still connect the watch to Wi-Fi while your phone is switched off to access some web based apps and features, however it isn't possible to send SMS messages via a Wi-Fi network.

As I've found out.. cheers for update.. and although you can't initiate a WhatsApp message I'm assuming you can answer one ??

Sort of yes...turn on remote connection and it means you can use wi-fi if your phone is out of range

Only for some features evidently. Not sure if it works for sending/receiving calls or emails though. Definitely doesn't work for text and possibly WhatsApp either
