Galaxy Watch - screen wake up/turn off behaviour is irritating

Hi hope someone can help I've just recieved my new galaxy watch which is great.

My question is I turned the wake up screen off last night so when I'm a sleep the screen would wake up a d lightvthe room,well this did not work,even thos the screen wake up was off the screen still lit up when I was in bed,is there a thing I can do please. Thanks

if im reading this right use the goodnight mode and nothing will wake up the screen and no notificatios will come through
