Hi all, I bought a S24 phone and decided to swap my Garmin Venu 2 for a Watch 7 40mm. I thought I'd make use of the Samsung Infrastructure. I wish I hadn't. The battery life makes the watch unusable. I barely get a full 12hrs out of the battery. I use it in the gym and after 60mins bike and 60mins weights I'm having to put it on charge in the car on the way home. When compared to the Garmin it's just awful. I've read that there is a software update but my watch is up to date. Is there a fix or do I just accept the watch is rubbish, bin it and go back to Garmin or try Amazfit. It wasn't cheap so it is frustrating

If you just got the watch, it goes through a battery conditioning cycle. So will initially be inconsistent.
But after a few days it should settle down.
Consider if you need always on display as well.
Personally I find it pointless and turn it off. Raise to wake is much more useful and saves battery.

You can try clearing the cache partition which can help things like this. There are tutorials on YouTube on how to do this.

My son has an amazfit balance, he got it Monday charged it and it still has 70% battery and it was a third of the price

I find the watch works better with the ring, or visa versa, I get 2 days fromy watch but that's playing with the settings to achieve that, and watching some YouTube videos on how to save battery. I keep my WiFi and mobile data set to auto, plus use raise to wake and have screen timeout set to 15secs, but maybe you should not use the raise to wake function when training, and search a less energy watch face. If you want max out of your watch keep the power save mode switched on, or click on the power save icon in the wear app and you'll see other power saving options. I came from the watch 6 classic 47mm LTE straight to the ultra and not regretting the early move. I've owned the Samsung watches since the Tizen days, then the galaxy watch classic BT (first one with wear OS), then watch 4 classic BT, watch 6 47mm LTE and now this ultra. And try using adaptive settings
