Hi all, I've noticed some strange behaviour on my GW5:
for some incoming calls the caller name (from contacts) is shown on the watch but for other only the number calling is shown (although these numbers are also saved in contacts).
For example, for the recent 20 calls in the call log half of the calls are logged just as phone number, other with caller names. But all these numbers/callers are saved in the contacts - I can see them in Contacts app on my watch!
Not 100% this is happening since the last watch os upgrade (Wear OS 4/One UI 5, last update security patch level July 23).
Any help appreciated, thanks!

Maybe. But for me this setting is On by default. I'll try turning this On/Off and see if anything happens. Thanks.

Same issue here.
Phone: S23 Ultra
Watch: Galaxy Watch5 Pro LTE (SM-R925F)
No contacts in the watch, caller ID doesn't show (only number is visible), call log not synchronizing with the phone (last record is from 22nd September, so very close to the date when One UI 5 Watch came out)

Hey, I have discovered how you can solve this issue. The solution is satisfactory at best, unfortunately, but it DOES work.
The problem we are facing strictly depends on the "phone number format" not being synced properly between your phone and your watch.
It appears to me that Galaxy Watch does not recognize phone numbers correctly when they are written with the country code.
The solution to that problem was to simply edit the numbers with country code and removing the country code. This glitch happens only with national numbers that have a country code added to them.
For example, I live in Egypt, and the country code in Egypt is +20. If a phone number is written as +201224667876 (just a random number) it will not be recognizable. If you remove the country code and make it 01224667876 (this is how numbers look in like in Egypt) your galaxy watch will immediately recognize it and the name will instantly appear. I have tried this on several contacts and it works.
I am still trying to discover a way that edits all the numbers in your contact book all at once.
