Galaxy Watch 4 LTE not working with a non-samsung phone.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 LTE version, can only enable the LTE option (using cellular option) if the watch is connected to a Samsung phone. Can anyone suggest any alternative?

So we have to buy a Samsung phone to use the LTE features on the Watch 4 LTE ? Looks like buying a horse since we have a saddle.

This watch's significance is LTE and there is no mention of LTE connectivity restrictions on Non Samsung Phones. Serious waste of money
