Duplicate WhatsApp notifications on Galaxy Watch6

So I have a Galaxy Watch6 and have installed the WhatsApp application on it and set it as a linked device.

Whenever I receive a message I now get 2 notifications on my watch. 1 from my mobile and 1 from the installed app.

How do I set it so that I only get 1 notification?

If you only want notifications on your watch then then off your phone notifications as one notification is being created by the app on your phone and the other by the app on your watch.

If you want notifications on your phone only turn off notifications on the watch, this can be due in the galaxy wearable app.

But I want notifications on phone and watch but only one on watch.
If I go into wearable app and switch off WhatsApp notifications I don't get any WhatsApp notifications on watch from either companion app or sent from phone.

In wearable app I've set the settings as this and it seems to work.

Now it's fine 90% of the time, but still happens here and there.

Try to disconnect and connect app. I had the same issue

How do you disconnect the app?

Whatsapp on the phone -> 3 dots in the upper right corner -> linked devices -> tap a device to log out.

Aster logging out you should reconnect app on the watch and it should help

Hello @demusss , I did as you said and it worked up to yesterday, when my SGS23 update to OneUI6 / Android 14 and now I have duplicated notifications again on my watch, even with your workaround. How is it going for you?
